Finally got the "new" M50 masks. (Finally trickling down to more Reserve units now, I guess). Anyway these carriers are not equipped with a handy D-Ring, so there is not a good place to attach a hanging clip or hook.
Have seen these stored on shelves, but my RC safety manager insists that these need to be stored by hanging (like older ones).

I would like to hear what others have done.

I tied 550 cord to a little strap on the bag. Each piece of cord was about 12 inches long. Tied it off in a square knot. Hung just like the old ones. Took some time to do, but wasn't hard to do.

You win @Sgt Phil Hammond SGT (Join to see)! I think that will be cheaper then buying 120 S-hooks

Your other option is to get big key (O) rings and attach them on one side of the either straps and hang it that way

If they want it hanged, then use the big hooks and hang it like "purses", there's a part in the strap that you can hang but you gotta use the big hooks. I do have mine on a shelf sitting on an upright position in the carrying case.

SGM (R) Antonio Brown , the decision was already made by my CBRN officers to Turn in the M40s and initiate assignment and training of the M50s. What is the recommendation from FLW about how to store the Mask/ Carrier combo.

Our METL and our mission does not support, in my opinion, issuing the masks to the soldiers. We had discussed it and came up with several reasons why it would be better for the masks to remain in the unit's storage area and just be assigned and fit-tested to individuals, As a Reserve unit, CBRN training, unfortunately tends to only occur 1-2 times a year.

I am trying to change that, but that is a separate issue and another discussion. I had an interesting discussion with previous Commandant BG Gervais about Reserve training issues during one of the Afternoon Socials when I was there for phase I of SLC. I am returning to finish SLC in January-March. I look forward to perhaps meeting you in person.

1SG (Join to see) - I will still be here. I move from classroom to classroom checking on training. Although CBRN ALC and ALC do not belong to the CBRN School, the writers for the courses work with me and I checking on the flow of the lessons.

1SG (Join to see) - BTW just a side note you gotta be careful with the filters, here on the active duty side we cannot get extras like how you do with the canisters for the M40 unless it's a 1 for 1 exchange say if it's "contaminated" or the little marker turns blue but on a positive note, it still functions with just one filter...

1SG (Join to see) - My shop has not put out any specific guidance for storage of the protective masks once they have been removed from the shipping container. This is due to the fact that no two CBRN rooms are the same. I have made recommendations based on the size of the CBRN rooms. With your unit not conducting a lot of CBRN training I would recommend keeping all masks stored at the unit. Now, if your unit had storage containers/lockers for each Soldier that would be reason to sign out the masks to each individual so that it can be packed with that individuals deployment/field gear.
