Does anyone have a copy of the book: U.S. Army Heraldic Crests: A Complete Illustrated History of Authorized Distinctive Unit Insignia?

I was able to find a book at the post library. It had all the information I needed.

Great so the library is still a valid option for research

One reseller on Amazon is selling it for over $770. What a ripoff. I wonder if you could order it through your library. It's 461 pages and it was published by the University of South Carolina Press. I wonder if it can be found somewhere else for cheaper. Unfortunately it's not available in Kindle format which is usually a lot cheaper. However, not all Kindle versions include illustrations or photos from the original books.

Amazon has a preview of the book that shows some crests and a short list of units. It's not complete since they want you to buy the book. Google does have a better review of the book than Amazon. It shows more units.

This is what I found searching the preview which shows the entire page. It doesn't show an image of it.

The black grenade refers to the Battalion's ordnance function, the wheel with light blue spaces to its quartermaster mission, and the wheel with brick red to its transportation activities. The sword, from the shoulder sleeve insignia of the US Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, commemorates the unit's activation and service in Vietnam.

There's also a note at the end of the book saying you can request unit insignia from their inventory. Some of these unit insignias can probably be ordered from online sources unless the unit no longer exists. I've noticed some of them are harder to find.
