Does anybody have any experience with serving with the Arkansas Army National Guard. Are the units out there squared away?

Arkansas has 4 major MACOMs, 39th Infantry Brigade, (North central and entire Southern Arkansas) 142nd Field Artillery Brigade, (Northwest Arkansas) 87th Troop Command (Central and Northeast Arkansas) and the 77th Combat Aviation Brigade (Entire Brigade on Camp Robinson). There are a few smaller specialty units as well. I spent the last 17 years of my 41 year career there after transferring in from the Pennsylvania National Guard. There are two main training post, Camp Robinson (Little Rock) and Fort Chaffee.(Fort Smith) Armory's are spread throughout the state, I have deployed with both the 39th (twice) and the 77th (twice). Both those units are squared away, however you do have the normal 10% of problem children, just like any unit be it active duty or Guard. The greatest majority are good units with good people and are squared away. The state does not tax military pay, nor do they tax military retired pay. Additionally college tuition has become 100% paid for at any state run university. There are ample AGR (Active Guard) opportunities as well as federal technician jobs. Especially with your supply background. I would highly recommend the Arkansas Guard to any transitioning active duty person.

From the experience I've had with the Arkansas Guard, they're all pretty squared away, obviously they're not going to be as squared away as an AD unit is. Nonetheless still a good group of people.
