As stated above , currently reading through AR 614-30.. I can not seem to find anything about dwell time with a 2 year unaccompanied tour in Germany.

Story goes, my DEROS is in MAR2024 and I came down on orders with a report date shortly after. The gaining unit I'm assigned to is currently going to EUCOM the same month I in-process. Seeing how I just came from EUCOM for the last 2 years with unaccompanied orders am I not given dwell time and will be going on the said rotation? Thanks in advance.

I don't know about current guidelines so I'll just say 'Good luck'. I did a tour in Korea in the 2nd ID and then went to 1st CAV on Ft Hood. When I reported to my unit they informed me that we were leaving for Bosnia in about six months. I did four years at Hood, went to Korea in the 2nd ID did 12 months and then an additional 3 for stop-loss. I went back to Hood and was assigned to the 3rd Sig Bde and then left for Iraq 5 months later. Good luck.

The base question is was your unaccompanied tour at the government direction or at your option (there are some additional special categories* as well ... dependant can't accompany due to medical conditions, etc.)?

AR 614-30 is clear (para 3-8d) that you will accrue dwell time on PCS dependent restricted tours (to a maximum of six months). However, if you elected to serve a shorter unaccompanied tour instead of a longer accompanied tour, then you are not eligible for dwell time from it.

An easy answer to what the government considered you is this - did you collect FSA-R (Family Separation Allowance - Restricted)? If the answer is 'yes', then you were considered to be on a restricted tour. If no, then you were considered to have opted to be unaccompanied.
