I have heard that Dr.s are not diagnosing PTSD correctly.I also had a misdiagnosis by a couple of navy doctors when I was younger. They first thought I had ring worm but an senior Doctor recognized what I really had was Impetigo.

Just as a side note, impetigo and ringworm can look very similar. Also, the DSM just had a revision so the definitions for some psychiatric diseases are changing making their dx a touch difficult to those with the old standards. The opinions of the provider can sometimes also affect their diagnosis of certain conditions (especially if their criteria is "fuzzy").

SPC Richard White, I've seen civilian doctors and military doctors, and I don't think there's a black/white line separating the two. I've had great military doctors and not-so-great civilian doctors, and vice versa. Overally, especially lately, I've been more than satisfied with the care I get from military doctors.

It seems civilian doctors are more worried about getting their payments from insurance companies.I have also experienced that.
