Since the VA has switched to this new way of handeling travel pay rebembursment in January of this year, I have not seen any of mine make it into my bank account. I hear stories of people not getting it until months after it was submitted. Although, the biggest complaint I have heard is, no one can seem to figure out which travel pay they do receive matches up with the slip they submitted.
What are your thoughts on this?

While I was in it was never an issue. It may have taken some time but as long as the paperwork was done correctly I was paid within a reasonable time frame.

Yes, but I wonder if being out for 30 years might have something to do with that???? lol

I've only been out since 06. I don't believe it has to do with length out. But, if you don't request TP they don't have to send out the money. If it's made harder and more inconvenient to acquire less people will request it. If less Vets receive TP, the VA will have a surplus of money at the end of the fiscal year to spend on something else. Say maybe, bonuses for management? Just a theory of course.
