In as much as caring what one's actions do to impact the lives of others is un-American, sure. If that's un-American to you, maybe we should reevaluate what it means to be American.
I think he is a true Christian. I think he's great and I'm not even catholic. Lol
Not in the Least. He appears to be Preaching the Same Values that Jesus Christ Himself Preached. I have nothing but love and respect for the Holy See. I can see where the US College of Cardinals though are feeling some heat from how far they have strayed from the values of the Church. Focusing on Abortion while Ignoring the Church's teachings on Social Justice.

I do understand where he is coming from also. He is a Product of the Civil Wars in South and Central America where Right Wing Military Dictators killed Priests and Nuns for Teaching Social Justice.

Pope Francis has arrived in Havana this afternoon and starts a historic 10-day visit to Cuba and the United States.
I find it interesting that certain members in this thread don't like when proof of something is posted. They down vote articles and posts in the thread then block you so you can't respond. So much for the free exchange of ideas.... too bad Sgt Tom Cunnally didn't bother to read the article from HuffPo and see the stats came from the very reliable Gallup organization. I guess some people can't handle the truth!
No .... American Catholics love Pope Francis & wish he was coming to Boston. I am also proud he is a Jesuit But very worried about his safety with so many nutjobs in our country or Jihardists linked to ISIS or Al Qaeda who are a constant threat these days...

Sgt Tom Cunnally his anti capitalism statements snd his socialist actions are what the article was discussing. And by the way my informal discussions with other Catholics seem to indicate your thoughts about this pope are not in agreement with your assertion
Sgt Tom Cunnally
SSgt Alex Robinson - My assertions about the Pope are solely mine & I stand by them 100%. Your so called informal discussions with other Catholics don't track with all the Catholics I know. So that says to me that we once again have a divide among American Catholics about a newly appointed Pope which is not unexpected or unusual.

Conservatives Are Not Happy With Pope Francis, Gallup Poll Shows
