Do awards that companies win for being “military friendly” mean anything to you?

I have worked for companies that were not military friendly and those that are military friendly. Of the two, I definitely would choose a military friendly company over one that isn't. So yes, the award means something to me. While it is true that actions speak louder than words and its not enough to talk the talk, but to walk the walk, but at least that gives you a frame of reference to start with.

Absolutely not...
The ones that we hear about that are not "military friendly" get my full attention however.

I think a lot of the companies that say they are miliatry friendly just want the free publicity. Actions do speak louder than words.

My thoughts as well. I think we hand out awards and recognition too much today; starting with "everyone's a winner" in kids sports.
And this whole idea of being rewarded for doing something right is ridiculous as well; like donating and then getting a tax write off?! WTH happened to it being a donation?
