Long story short, I got out of Active Duty with 10% disability and went into the IRR to later come back into the Reserves. Nothing has held me down or stopped me from passing anything I need to do as a soldier, to which, I have never been flagged in my career.
If I drop a packet for AGR, will I need to get a waiver for my 10% from the VA, prior to going or even attempting to drop a packet for AGR?

So when you do the packet which you can find on HRC my portal it ask you if you receive a rating and it states you will have to waive your disability rating so you would no longer be able to receive that disability through the VA and be in the AGR program. You would have to re file once you get out for it.

SSG Hartwigh is correct, but just to clarify. You wont have to re-submit for your existing rating, that'll always be there. You'll just have to "turn on" your benefits again. 10% shouldn't be an issue with anything.

MAJ Milan George - Yeah I kinda figured that you wouldn't have to file again. But I do know someone who just retired out of the ARG with his 20 he said he went down to VA because he had a 30% disability before he went into the AGR 10 years ago and they told him he had to re-file for his disability again. Maybe if depends on length and how long ago and the %. You never know with the VA. lol

I think you might have to refile for a disability. if so, there is always a chance that the disability will be denied outright.
