As the topic somewhat describes my situation, my question is in reference to leave. Can I take leave prior to my school date in conjunction with my TDY. Do I just need a memo of understanding to do so? and ensure in the remarks section that the only chargeable leave are say for ex: 15 Dec 18- 1 Jan 19 (as I am presuming I get 2 days of travel time to report to the school since I am coming from South Korea)? Would this route be an option for me to do? And do I need to extend for a month at my current assignment due to the DEROS is 25 NOV 18? I have been trying to look through the regs and what not, and my s3 is somewhat new to all this. So with all the experience around me they've yet to run into this type situation before. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank y'all!

You're not finding answers in regs because what you're citing are unit policies.
You can take all the leave you want, there's no reg that will prevent or confirm that because it's at your commander discretion.
The remarks section of your DA31 is not for chargeable leave - it's for remarks, such as what your chargeable leave is and other important notes.
Once you turn in your DA31 to your levy your DEROS will be updated to the day you intend to leave. You don't need an extension.
Your DEROS is not a day they kick you out the country, it's the earliest your branch can make your report date. Transportation uses the date to base your tickets off of, so that's why you will get a new DEROS based off your leave.
