"China’s acquisition of a MIRVed capability is one of the most dangerous nuclear weapons developments that no one is talking about.
MIRVed missiles carry payloads of several nuclear warheads each capable of being directed at a different set of targets. They are considered extremely destabilizing to the strategic balance primarily because they place a premium on striking first and create a “use em or lose em” nuclear mentality."
Does this worry you at all? What is our stand, how do we counter or do we take an offensive approach?

CSM Michael J. Uhlig There are a number of countries including China that have nuclear capabilities and that hasn't changed since we bombed Japan and really started this whole process and race to create the most sophisticated weapons. I really think we have ourselves to blame, but eventually someone would have developed them and we would be right here anyway. Let's hope that no country is stupid enough to use them first, second, or last and they just sit and rust on the shelves or in their silos forever. I don't think that we will see them used in our lifetime CSM Michael J. Uhlig! Let's just hope that our children and our children's children don't experience that either.

Agree, but for different reasons, perhaps. The global economy is intertwined to a point that an all out war would result in ruin to most nations. Where would China sell their junk, for example. The engine of capitalism is getting stronger and stronger in China and besides is someone owed you $1.5T, would you take a shot at them? My concern is that the Radical religious element in a country like Iran would take out or attempt to take out Israel or other enemy and start something that millions would die from. Tactical Nucs, maybe. Depending on the situation.

Well I trust in our country to do the right thing. I look at it like this. If it is Gods plan to end the world and start Armageddon, there is nothing man can do but suck it up and hope that your life is where it should be in the heart and mind of our creator!

We don't have a "first use" policy. But no President wants to be the one responsible for the end of humanity...so there's that.

Look who joined the Club. Nukes with MIRVs. While their economy was booming looks like they were busy beavers. Not Surprised and not really concerned. They would fall in with the MAD concept. You Launch and it is game over for all of us. So I'm not going to lose a lot of sleep on this one.
