China and the US drafted a proposal together to impose tougher sanctions on North Korea. What effects do you imagine will happen?

The poorest of North Korea will suffer the most,maybe eventually over time their military will try a coup,when they see their families dieing of starvation and lack of medical attention.My questions what would fill the vacuum when the regime falls.

Well, all I know is that I hope we really are working well together with China so that maybe one day we can make those two countries one nation.

I don't suspect that any new round of wrist-slapping will hurt NK; rather, it will feed into their paranoid US vs. The World mentality and be a boost for Kim Jong-Un's propaganda ministry.

China wants to save face, would like a political kindred spirit in the region, but the destabilizing antics of NK is wearing very thin. If the US and China want to work together to calm the little man down, China may be the one who needs to step carefully. Not that I think there is a danger of this yet, but should the reclusive and paranoid leader of NK begin to feel China is turning on him (whether they are or not), he might lash out in some unpredictable ways. NK couldn't defeat China or the combined SK and American militaries, but if they aren't thinking/acting rationally and are irrationally afraid their only friend in the world is now acting against them, a lot of people could die before NK gets crushed.

This is an old game. N.Koea rattles its sword, we wait, they shut off the nuke program we send food.

I wouldn't want to be stationed in South Korea. Especially on the Zone. It's hard to tell what Kim Jung-un will do when he throws a temper tantrum about it.

It's a year later now since this was posted. So, in hindsight now ask yourself how it has worked out.

My first instinct is to say Nada, because that is what has happened in the past. However, North Korea will probably respond by mortar shelling one or more South Korean fishing vessels, then will reward their bad behavior by sending them by more frequent food shipments. Then the Supreme Leader can tell his people that he defeated the US in WW3 as his father did in WW2.

yeah...I'm not really trusting China on or about anything...like they have not been helping out N. Korea all of this time....and what has China been up to? Really, with all of the island building and all....mmmhhhh???
