Would like to get the input from some one who has active duty service and has or is going to sf training. Thinking about making the switch with in the next 2 months.

SFC(P) Jonathan P. - That's good. I was mind boggled at first, but wanted to clarify.

First, it is not a simple task. A lot try this and don't do so well. I have known many that have tried and not one that I knew that spoke of it made it. But that doesn't mean you can't try. The biggest issue that I always find is that soldiers have no clue what they are getting into. I was active duty when I first joined the Army. Now I am in the Guard. I am not trying to degrade the quality of the soldiers in the guard but the best soldiers in the Guard are often just another soldier in the Regular Army. Our active duty counter parts train a lot harder and get for more experience than we do. I would study as much as you can and seek out soldiers that are SF to do this. I also hope on trying for SF when I am eligible, I have to be a 1LT(P) first. I have been lucky to train on par with Regular Army officers and have been on multiple deployments. You might be ready. I would just seek out an SF soldier to gauge that really.
