Is this the way? I don't think so. It sounds like a prescription for more of the same that got us into the mess we're in. But that's just my opinion. What's yours?

Who of you has seen this video?! Every time I see it it makes me think. Even though the setting is fictional (TV show the Newsroom) but the facts are true however.
So what do you think about this video and the question in generell? Are we still the greatest nation on the planet?!

The video makes some points, but is clearly geared towards a specific audience.
What does is mean to be great? If you honestly think the past was nothing but white picket fences and hanging out at the malt shop, then sorry to say, your memory has probably been hijacked by political ads.
The past sucked, even worse than now. The whole idea of parenting is to make sure your children have a better life than you had, and now that this has become a reality, people think the next generation is spoiled rotten.
I am not a fan of abortion, but the video makes a point- it isn't going anywhere. It does is no good to try and ban abortion, because it's still going to happen. At least with the clinics, women can have them done in a safe, professional environment. We also have to remember that planned parenthood provides more services than abortions, like STD checks and birth control to name a few; it's called planned parenthood, not unplanned parenthood. Shutting down or defunding Planned Parenthood would be devastating to the lower classes.
The Black Lives Matter movement is becoming more and more hostile. It is a hate group. It started with good intentions, but here is the problem: the foundation of the entire movement was laid on the bodies of criminals: Trayvon Marton and Michael Brown. You can't start a movement on such corrupt principles or it will quickly spiral into chaos, which is what is happening now. This turned from raising awareness about innocent victims being gunned down to a war against police and white people in general. I realized it was a racial issue when I saw a protest in front of a police station in which one of the protesters looked at a black officer and stated "you're on the wrong side brother!"... The wrong side of what? The law?
So, can we be great again? The real question should be, have we ever been great? I think this is the same problems we have always had, just more accessible with our technology. I also think these issues today are being measured against a nostalgic view of warped memories of how things used to be.
