Yes you can CPL. I just finished my 11B OSUT about 3 weeks ago and we had 2 prior service Marines in my platoon. One was Ordnance and the other was a Combat Engineer who spent 5 and 6 years in the Corps respectively. The Army let them keep their ranks (E-5) and integrated them fully into our platoon as 18X Candidates (Special Forces Soldiers have to be Infantry qualified, it’s part of the pipeline.)So if you go Army not only will you get the training to re-class your MOS you should also get to keep your rank/pay grade that you had in the Corps.

You do not have to be Infantry to apply for SF selection. It's open to any MOS since you will be given and trained for a new MOS. You get sent to 11B OSUT if you join off the street with an 18X contract (or a REP 63 if you are Army National Guard). The 18X get you OSUT and a MOS, Airborne and a shot at Selection, but any MOS apply for Selection.

Did you check with a recruiter, or is this a general question? Check with a recruiter first, than go from there.

I know that when I got out of the Marines in 91 as an 0311. I joined the Army National Guard in 96 and did not have to go back to Basic, just MOS school(95B-Military Police)
