How about someone write about how the Constitution has been relegated to the scrapheap by the current administration and castrated by previous administrations and how it must be brought to the forefront and enforced if we are to once again regain the glory this nation and it's armed forces once had?

I think that would be a very good topic, but would probably be shot down by those higher up in power...

That's a different problem Scott. I am an Oathkeeper though. I'm getting up there in age now, I'm still fit though. Plus, I'm armed. If I have to give up my life to help protect our Constitution, I will do so. I was ready to do so when I was 17 years old long ago. Nothing has changed since then. Now I'm in my fifties. My oath still stands.

That's a fact Scott. When I enlisted there wasn't an expiration date with the oath to defend the Constitution. i only served for 6 years (2 of which were inactive reserve) - my oath expires when I'm dead.

Just a follow up on this thread I did reach out to the Naval Institute with the following message and once I hear something back I will post the response:

Good Afternoon,

I have been asked by a few Navy veterans if the eligibility requirements could include honorable U.S. Navy vets as well. Some felt their service was being lessened since active, reserve and retired enlisted military (from all Navies) could submit something but not our own honorable vets. Thank you for your time!

Very Respectfully,

We need our Navy. I'm a Navy vet. I will write an essay as to why we need our Navy.
