Any other 91C Sgt(P)s share my frustration? Why is so hard?

It's because you have a tiny MOS that requires lots of E4s and very few NCOs. It's the trade off that goes with highly technical MOS's. Combat arms complain they don't have a job that translates into civilian skills and low density MOS's complain they can't get promoted.

Would you suggest reclassing mos to something different that is easier to get promoted in? Out of curiosity

It is so hard because 91J become are mos after they make E-5 that is why I feel it is so hard. We have to compete with are mos and there mos for E-6. There are not enough people are getting out in the higher positions.

I guess I am confused as your name line depicte SFC. You may wish to look at some shortage MOS’ and go after something more appealing. You have to keep an eye on retention points regarding grade and separation.

SGT (Join to see) I stayed in my MOS but by the time I made staff I had pretty much set myself up for success.

May I know more of how you did it, also did you do it in the reserve component or in the active duty component. If it is a bit intruding can you send me a direct message. I am trying to find the best route for my military career progression and although I really enjoy my MOS if it is a career stopper I am willing to reclass.SFC (Join to see)

I'm An Old Timer From 1961 - 1965. USAF,
Made E-2 Immediately Out Of Basic, Of Course,... And A Year Later, E-3. ... "WHOOPIE" !!
And Remained An E-3 For The Rest Of My 4 Year Enlistment....
Did That SUCK Or What?.... Yup, It Sucked!
Obviously NO FUTURE There.!!
But I've always missed those USAF days
