Has anyone else noticed the website automatically friend requesting people you don't know? Is there a way to prevent this?

It isn't the website sending you random friend requests. It is RP members friend requesting you to build their network and as a result increase their influence score. I only accept people that I know or those who are in my career field. Everyone else who randomly tries to connect with me I just decline their request. Declining their request actually takes influence points away from the person. In the long run randomly trying to connect with people will likely do more harm than good to those individuals influence scores.

CW2 McCloud is spot on. Just FYI for everyone, if you send out a bunch of contact requests and they get declined, it significantly hurts your Influence Score.

Actually that's not it. I'm referring to when it says "awaiting confirmation" under a bunch of people I've never requested, not when I have a number of requests pending on my contacts page.
