As you read the English translation on this Israeli memorial to 9/11, is there anything that stands out to you?

This metal piece, like the entire monument, is a manifestation of the special relationship between New York and Jerusalem.”

Implode or explode are both inaccurate. The first event was a low yield explosion with the fuel/air mix. That wasn't much as the structure goes. The killer event was the subsequent searing fire that worked it's way through the spray on fire proofing that's used for structural steel. At that point when the steel was heated (not melted) to the point where it loses structural integrity, it can't support the weight of the floor. When a few floors collapsed, the downward thrust was too much for the unaffected steel to support and the full collapse is like dominoes going down.

Demolition expert Romero regrets that his comments to the Albuquerque Journal became fodder for conspiracy theorists. "I was misquoted in saying that I thought it was explosives that brought down the building," he tells PM. "I only said that that's what it looked like."
Romero, who agrees with the scientific conclusion that fire triggered the collapses, demanded a retraction from the Journal. It was printed Sept. 22, 2001. "I felt like my scientific reputation was on the line." But emperors-clothes.com saw something else: "The paymaster of Romero's research institute is the Pentagon. Directly or indirectly, pressure was brought to bear, forcing Romero to retract his original statement." Romero responds: "Conspiracy theorists came out saying that the government got to me. That is the farthest thing from the truth. This has been an albatross around my neck for three years."
I sense that the terrorist attacks on 9/11 will be diminished as only 'tragic implosions' in much the same way that President Obama and the Defense Department claimed the terrorist massacre by Nidal Hassan at Ft. Hood was only "workplace violence". It took 6 years for this terrorist attack to be called what it was: terrorism.

Wouldn't that be secondary to the initial event? My point is that for the succeeding generations who read this plaque the impression would be it was all just a "tragic implosion"--which might be like saying 6,000,000 Jews died of "tragic asphyxiation".
