If someone is flagged for failing an APFT, they can take an APFT to lift the flag. Also I think something just came out about E4s (SPC/CPLs) can take an APFT for promotion but if they fail it can't be used against them - something like that.

The new guidelines are that you can take an APFT if you want to in order to increase your promotion points. If you don't have a passing APFT you will need to take one for certain things. If you fail you can't be flagged

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - oh trust me, it was. The soldier is currently busting his ass in order to try to drop his run time to get a passing score. We'll see what happens.

CW3 (Join to see) - He can't be flagged though. They didn't flag him in 2018 or 2019 - and the APFT is no more. It can only be used to improve promotion points but if someone fails it, it can't be negatively used against them. Not since covid started. So that one in May 2020 not sure how it was 'required' to be taken.
If I was that soldier I'd be over at JAG maybe even IG.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - This particular soldier just wants to pass an APFT, have it recorded, and get the hell out of the unit he's in.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - Oh yeah, I misspoke. The soldier did fail a run in November 2018 and April 2019, but the APFT he took where he passed the alternate event was in May 2019, not May 2020. Still didn't count. He moved units October 2019.
But in April 2019, the test of record was still the APFT. How can he not be flagged if he failed an APFT while it was still a test of record?
