We can send help to get those 300 girls but we are unable to get a single
Marine out of a Mexican jail.
I know we do not know the whole story but from all the articles I have read our gov. Is doing little if anything. If I am reading this wrong please let me know.
But it burns my backside just watching or state department do nothing about this

Maybe there are some terrorists we can trade to Mexico to get this Marine home. It worked to get a PFC/SGT back from Afghanistan.

One is a group of kidnapped children, the other was a gentleman who was legally arrested on weapons charges. There's a vast gulf between those two situations. Having said that, negotiations are supposed to be underway.

CPL Jolley,
What would you like the White House to do? I'm pretty sure whatever they did you'll be against it just because it Pres Obama. Do you really think this is the first time the United States negotiated with terrorist?

Nigeria is Africa's largest US trading partner. In other words, there is a connection. Again, short sighted.

MSgt Herbert,
Do you have any more details you can provide about the Marine in a Mexican jail?
If you are talking about Sgt Andrew Tahmooressi - active negotiations are underway.
He was arrested on weapons charges. There will be a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
Warmest Regards, Sandy

MSgt Herbert,
This is a difficult situation because there are strict laws prohibiting import of guns and ammunition into Mexico. Nevertheless, there is precedent for freeing our brother for lack of intent. We should be supportive and exert whatever pressure is possible on our own and the Mexican government. I believe he will be freed. But this may take significantly more than a few days to accomplish.
This has absolutely nothing to do with our priorities. Elements of our government including the state department are actively engaged in negotiations. Ultimately, the last time this happened our brother was released when we threatened to close border crossings.
Warmest Regards, Sandy

Secretary of State John Kerry was in Mexico City to discuss the crisis in Venezuela with Mexico in hopes of a coordinated response in the Americas to the abuses of the Maduro regime.
Kerry “raised the issue” during these meetings in Mexico City.
