Can a person with an open-carry from Texas be allowed to use his license in another state if his license is recognized by the state or do I need 50 licenses for every state?

It depends on the state of issue, and the "Reciprocity" Agreements that state has.
Concealed Carry Permits (et al), and any variation thereof are regulated at the State level. If you have one from Texas, that permit "may" or "may not" be valid in other states.
below is a link to a site that is "generally" correct, however always double check before travelling.

That's my go-to map to get started..... just click on the state you hold your permit, and the map will tell you where your permit is good, and more importantly, where it's NOT. Good advise from Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS ... use this only as a guide, and double check with each individual State you'll be in for particulars.

Just because you have one that is covered in several states to carry concealed or not, what you need to look at is the laws that cover your actions while carrying, as others have said. Take Colorado and Utah for example....Say you are in the parking lot and someone comes up to you and you feel threatened, even if they are just walking by and you pull your weapon, even if to show you have one....In Colorado you can get arrested. In Utah, nothing will happen. So before you do any carrying in another state that reciprocates your permit, understand the laws to where you are going. Laws are different everywhere you go. Like the others have said...research, may save you money and time in jail.

Concur with the other commenters; whether or not a state honors an out-of-state permit depends upon a reciprocity agreement. There is some question as to whether or not the recent SCOTUS decision mandating gay marriage nationwide somehow also mandated nationwide reciprocity but the Commonwealth of Virginia doesn't seem to think so nor would I want to be the one to find out the answer is no. States to avoid regardless include the Peoples Republik of Manhattan (NY), Peoples Republik of the Chesapeake (Maryland), Peoples Republik of Aztlan (California), Peoples Republik of the Beltway (Virginia), Peoples Republik of Beantown (Massachuttes), and Peoples Republik of Obamastan (Illinois).
The link below is for the PA Firearms Owners Association and lists reciprocity with PA with links to the actual agreements and other restrictions. Pretty sure you can set it for your state as well.

Pennsylvania's License To Carry Firearms is honored by many states and vice versa, this page keeps a constantly updated list of those agreements.

Many states do recognize licensing credentials from other states, but some do not. Virginia recently cancelled their agreements with other states, hitting the news.

Any state that does not require a license to open carry you can carry in. If another state has reciprocity with your state for open carry, then you can carry in. CCW's work the same way. Many states recognize many other states. If you want to carry in all states you probably can get by with about 10 licenses. (my best guess) You also sort of answered your own question. If another state recognizes your Texas license, that means you don't need their state license. Hope that helps.

PO2 Morton Scisco
Here in Arizona for instance, the rules for out of state residents are as follows:
The permit or license is recognized as valid in the issuing state
The permit or license holder is all of the following:
Legally present in this state
Not legally prohibited from possessing a firearm in this state
Additionally, my conceal carry permit is recognized in the following states:
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Main, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
But the great thing about Arizona is we have Constitutional carry for both open and concealed. Meaning you do not need a permit to open or conceal carry.
Those of us who do chose to get a Concealed Weapon Permit do it solely for the reciprocity with the states I listed above.

PO2 Morton Scisco, this is an interactive map; click on your state, indicate whether your permit is a resident or non-resident, and the map will display the states that honor your permit.
