Are IUDs allowed at Air Force BMT, or do I have to have mine removed before I leave?

I am trying to figure out if IUDs are allowed at BMT or if I'll have to have mine removed before I leave. I haven't been able to really find anything about it. Does anyone know if they are or if I'll need to change my birth control? Thanks in advance!

If you don't tell anyone you have an IUD, how would they know? It's been my understanding that an IUD is placed, and then left alone until the woman wants to get pregnant. Army Basic Training is 9 weeks long. It shouldn't even be a factor. In which service are you enlisting?

Before an admin changed the name it did specify, but I'm going into the Air Force.

Talk with your recruiter, if it is an issue they will know.. They are vested in your shipping on time and without hassle.. You getting turned away at reception when "The IUD" question is asked (not really a question, but if it was an issue it would be asked..get the point)

Okay thank you he hadn't heard of it being a problem but it wasn't something he knew much about.

When I enlisted into the Army, I let them know at Meps that I had an IUD. What they are looking for is if you have been having irregularities with period or issues with the IUD. Definitely check with recruiter.

All my recruiter said regarding it is he doesn't know but it's not something he encounters often
