Are follow-on orders are needed to submit a levy packet? Is that where we pick to PCS before school or after?

We were told follow on orders are needed to submit levy packet and that’s where we pick to PCs before school or after is this accurate ?
Husband filled out packet for levy brief and went to the retention officer to sign it and they told him that we need the follow on orders to submit with the levy packet to choose if we PCs before or after school to the new duty station since it’s so short of a schooling. But the concern is if we PCs to the new duty station then husband goes to school what happened if he doesn’t finish or pass the new school. Is his current mos he has ( not the reclass ) gonna be available at the new duty station as a job , like do they keep that in mind or would we have to move again if he wasn’t going to pass his schooling and get the job change ?

That is correct. The smarter thing to do is to return to clear after class and then PCS. If his follow on is Korea or OCONUS then it's a moot question

For most reclass that I’ve seen, you get the option for TDY enroute (go to the school and then PCS from the school directly to new duty assignment) or TDY and return (go to school and return back to the unit for follow on PCS). I would go with TDY and return. It would allow him to come back upon completion so you both will have time to get ready to clear and move to the next duty station.
