I'm a little late to the party. Did the business ever get started? Partners can be tricky and should be approached carefully and thoroughly.
Here are a couple articles that may be of interest. http://vetlaunched.com/5-reasons-never-business-partner/ and http://vetlaunched.com/5-reasons-always-business-partner/
If there are other ways I can be of help, just let me know.

One of my mentees is opening up her own daycare in orlando florida. We have been discussing the pros and cons of opening up a stand alone daycare versus a home daycare. Make sure that you enroll in the 4 C program and the state meal reimbursement program. The teacher to student ratio will be a lot smaller in a home daycare versus a stand alone daycare. infants are the real money makers when you compare the other group of kids. Being open 24 hours or at least until 11pm will help bring in healthcare professionals into choosing you guys over many competitors. You can always waiver registration fees and make up the cost in meal reimbursements. I have been creating businesses in many different industries the past 12 years. I own three businesses and am actually working on a business theory that will revolutionize the entrepreneur industry. Let me know if you have specific questions regarding the operations in the daycare.

SFC (Join to see), I have been an entrepreneur for the last 30 years. Of all the books I have read about starting your own business, "The Fundamentals Of Veteran Entrepreneurship" was the best.
It was so good, I partnered with the author, Michael I. Kaplan, as a contributor for the new 2016 Edition. You can check it out on Amazon, "The Prior-Service Entrepreneur - The Fundamentals Of Veteran Entrepreneurship." Take a sneak peek. If you like what you see you can get an inscribed copy for the same price here. "The Prior-Service Entrepreneur"
