I have called the VA who said they couldn't answer and my local Vet Center at school didn't have a clear answer. I have 3 months left in my post 9/11. I did pay into the Montgomery. I know if i use all my benefits I can file to have my $1200 refunded. I have heard that I can instead receive additional Benefits under the Montgomery instead of getting refunded. Does anyone know if this is true or if you have actually done this?

No, you cannot. What theyre referring to is that you can use your Montgomery GI Bill completely and then get an additional 12 months of the Post 9/11. But if you use your Post 9/11 you can't use the Montgomery afterwards.

Contact the VA since they handle GI Bill. Montgomery GI Bill is being phased out and you may or may not have extended Post 9/11.
