I am curious if anyone knows a way guard soldiers can attend this course. I am in the Indiana NG, it has been an uphill battle to get to this school. During my deployment prior to the sequestration I was going to attend BAC using my leave orders where soldiers can use that time to attend schools or course that better themselves units and states, but before my tour ended. Jump pay became hazardous duty pay and I was unable to be admitted to the course because you cannot be on hazardous duty while on leave. I have not been able to find a way to attend the course since.

If you're in the INNG you can join C Co 2-152 LRS or their Rigger Det. That would be the quickest and easiest way as it is a required course for either slot.

I can tell you with almost 100% certainty that outside of those two units you will never be able to get an airborne slot in the INNG... at least not through traditional channels. All airborne slots authorized to the INNG automatically get pushed to those units because they actually use those skills on a near monthly basis. Now if you can work some kind of drug deal, or know somebody on-high that owes you a favor... that's a different story. Best of luck to you!

That is extremely rare. There has to have need to send you. I have never heard of this leave order thing to attend schools. It sounds kind of shady to me. But the LRS unit is the best bet. You have to an 11B first. You MOS is killing your. Keep in mind when you got there they are going to want you to go to Ranger also. Most of their NCOs should be tabbed.

Probably about the only way you're going to get it in the Guard is to be assigned to one of the few units on Airborne status, or possibly as a reenlistment incentive.
