Does anyone know a deputy chief nurse or a chief nurse officer for a LOR for the AECP? I need this last LOR and I went to my local military hospital but since I am not in the medical field and I am an 31B, I dont think they feel comfortable of writing an LOR.

I do have my masters degree in Public health and if I can get my BA in nursing and accomplish my long term goals.

Did you actually contact the CNO or DCN at the MTF and they said they weren't comfortable writing the LOR? The reason I asked it that way is that doing interviews for prospective candidates is something that is decentralized from the Army (USAREC) to the senior leaders in the field (basically a "is this a good candidate or are we wasting our time?")

The LOR they SHOULD be writing aren't the type of "SGT Rivera is the best thing since sliced bread", but rather, "my observations of SGT Rivera during my interview of him were....".

Looking at USAREC's FY25 AECP Guidelines* and the LOR requirements from the regulation (USAREC Reg 601-37*, Para 5-8), the CNO or DCN should give an evaluation on USAREC Form 601-37.11* based on a one-on-one with you (note: YOU don't get the evaluation - it's sent to the AECP program manager).

If you are having issues acquiring an LOR from either a CNO or DCN, USAREC's directions are to email the USAREC program manager group email for assistance ( [login to see] ). I would do that and if you don't have a response in a week, call the AECP program manager OIC or NCOIC* (since the deadlines for packet submissions this year is August 1st, 2024).

Honestly, I would feel a tad uncomfortable writing an LOR for someone I don't know. If you have not done so, first build a good rapport before asking for the LOR again.
