I family friend that I have known since she was four years old just graduated college with a BA in Business and wants to join the Air Force as a officer. She has found a recruiter and has nearly complete whatever packet is required for the selection board. She has asked me to be one of the three letters of recommendation that is required for the packet.
From an Air Force perspective, what should be covered in an OTS letter of recommendation. What are those topics that are important for AF officer selection? Does anyone have any successful letters one could use as an example?

@ CW4 (P) Jim Steddum,
Chief,
I approve all Enlisted Officer packages for my little corner of the world. :)
Rather than dole over a cookie cutter template for a successful letter, I would say that she has to exude the inherent qualities that any branch would look for in an Officer. Ability to lead as well as follow, critical thinking, selflessness, ambition, etc.
As you know her during her entire lifetime, what facets does she have that you would like to see in an strong Officer? There is your successful letter. :)

Chief,
If she has any questions, I would be happy to answer them. Although not until after she learns the secret handshake.

Thank you so much! I like your advice as well. That is the approach I took (as I despise cookie cutter solutions).
