CPT (Join to see) - Very unusual, but I think it is pretty cool. The song certainly fit the occasion. GEN Dempsey has been known to sing at several events/ceremonies.

Hand salute to GEN Dempsey for his 41 years of service. That's as long as I have been alive, so wow.
Secondly, the GEN can actually carry a tune really well!
I also think this video is refreshing in light of the recent controversy here on RP surrounding the premier military band, in this case the Army's band and the President's Own. At least I think the men in red uniforms were members of the President's Own, I could be wrong.
