Officer moments that display a testament that NCOs have trained you well!

I want to hear some of the moments that capture when officers happened to spot a rare mistake or oversight that happened to highlight the fact that NCOs trained you well!
For example, I was in my office as a company commander at Fort Lee and my 1SG who is now a SGM who happens to be the finest NCO that ever trained me. He was in top notch shape and physical training was his utmost concern, to say the least! It was his lifestyle! He came into my office one afternoon and stated in words to the effect, "Sir, our civilian supply tech is working out in our recovery room! They are really getting a good work out in right now! I am impressed!" I immediately, said, "Top, check this out! Do you realize that they are a disabled veteran and park in a disabled parking spot everyday?" "Do you realize if they get injured on our watch that we will be held responsible?"-----He replied, "Sir, that is exactly why you are the commander and I will take care of it right now!"
It was not so much the actual event that told me that I had been trained; it was the simple fact that non-commissioned officers taught me to pay my undivided attention to the safety and well-being of others! Hands down it confirmed the things or lessons that he and many other NCOs had conveyed to me through my experience as a young officer.
Great NCOs are the personnel that train Soldiers, junior NCOs, and all Officers to become great! Sometimes they do it without others even knowing it!
I will say this isn't the only moment, however it was one one to remember!

In ROTC we had this MSG who came straight out of Ranger BN and was tough as nail. He wasn't the kind to go around and yell at everyone but he also wasn't the kind of person to go around handing out compliments either. Rarely did you hear him tell you that you did something well but he would be the first person that would tell you if you needed to fix something. He personality warded off some people but I found him really easy to talk to and if you did take the time to talk with him he wouldn't hesitate to give you some good sound advice. That man helped me out a lot and I still will call him or text him if I have question.

Wow, the NCOs these days are really slacking if they have only mentored two officers!

I didn't need much mentoring from NCOs, since I had been one for nearly 10 years prior to getting commissioned. lol

Best (not 100%) officers I served under were prior Enlisted. Funniest to watch were the 2LT straight out of academy. LOL

Back when I was enlisted, I was a SSG in a PSG for a while.
Our MSG was one of the most professional NCOs I have ever seen in my Army
career. He was my mentor, he was firm but he was fair. His mentorship played an
essential role in my development as a leader and I will always be grateful I
was given the opportunity to serve with him.
