No, a failed record APFT = a flag and makes them ineligible to attend the school, do the Soldier a favor and ensure they are prepared to be successful. Nobody wants to fail, anything, helping them get to where they ought to be will help them as an individual and the unit as a whole in the long run!

Roger CSM I was told by a senior nco that it was a diagnostic apft so the soldier will be attending wlc. I disagree but it was out of my control.

In my unit the CDR has a APFT policy that 30 days out from school they will take a APFT. If they fail they don't go.

No as he is expected to pass the APFT. It would be a waste of money and time when he flunks the APFT at WLC. He would be set up for failure. He needs to pass the APFT to go to the school. You don't reward failure.

I wouldn't send the Soldier and I wouldn't think twice about it. As a steward of the Army's money and professionals, I would not send a Soldier there to fail. I am obligated to ensure they are ready to attend, including physically.
