What leadership trait or act do you find the most influential? What makes you want to continue to soldier ?

I know when I was a junior soldier all I ever wanted was for my supervisor to tell me a job well done. I enjoyed being recognized for my work. What I did not like is when I completed a task my supervisor, would say ok now get this done and this done and this done. Bottom line, the act that I found most influential to me was being recognized for the hard work that I had done. A small pat on the back really does go a long way.

Empathy, when a subordinate can identify that the Leader doesn't care. The subordinate will most likely discredit the guidance that the Leader is providing.

Being able to work along side your soldiers is extremely important.What I mean by that is, show and prove to your soldiers that you once did exactly what they did and now you can do it better. Be proficient in your skill at a higher level than your soldiers and subordinates and remain sharp in your skill.

Integrity. As soon as it is lost, even in the little things, I then have to question it in the big things.
