1862 – Future President Sgt. William McKinley and a single volunteer drove a wagon of hot coffee and warm food through Confederate fire at Antietam to the men of the 23rd Ohio regiment.

Future President Col. Rutherford B. Hayes promoted him to lieutenant for his bravery and initiative.

I took my Wife to Fort McHenry. Did you know that reason the flag was so big? The Comander wanted to make sure the Brittish ships saw it. Know it took a Mayer who gave permission for rioters to burn the city. To bring the city to its knees.
