Panama would be pretty awesome and still has strategic importance.

Are we no longer there? In 04 the AF still had assignments in Panama.

SMSgt Tony Barnes we officially pulled out in 2000 but I believe some minor presence remained. No U.S. Bases anymore though.

Alameda Naval Air Station. Not only was it easy to get military hops from there, but I think it was wrong for the US Navy to close every single Naval installation in the San Francisco Bay area. It's a major port!

That's a good choice, too. I was stationed there 1970-1972, on the MIDWAY.
