To my current and former Recruiters, what is the craziest medical DQ you have experienced?

What was the most messed up thing that happened to you on the job?

Had a 24 year old dude get DQd because his grill was to messed up. Had to run a waiver in him after he saw a dentist to get a memo staying he could chew and swallow normally. HE WAS 24! If he couldn't eat he would nut have been alive. Dumb Docs.

I find this really hard to believe. I knew a Ssgt that only had 8 teeth all together and was a class 3 and no prosthetics. Somehow he got deployed anyway.

Sir,

This is going to sound really gross and weird, I had a guy that was disqualified because of a penis piercing, the doc said he could not deploy because of the "prince albert" that he had. For those unfamiliar, a prince albert is where there is a large rod about 1'-1 1/2' in girth is placed in your penis about half way up or it can be done on the head and it is usually about 3-5" in length for the rod. When he takes it out there is a hole big enough you could slide a pencil or government pen through, for health and cleanliness issues the doc said he would be non-deployable, and no a medical waiver wouldn't cover it, so he was DQ'd on the spot.

I have others that are not medical, but that is for another topic.

HA!  That's a good one!  We had one in my station who was disqualified for having too much foreskin!  He was told that if he got a circumcision, he could come in.  So this guy gets his foreskin clipped and by the time he was finished with his recovery, he had gained over 60 lbs.  Never got into the Army.  It's a damn shame what they did to that dong.

I had a high school kid get DQed because the veins in his penis were too big. They told him that can be a sign of testicular cancer. Imagine being told that from a doctor when you're 17 years old. Geez. He had to go to a urologist on his own and, of course, he didn't have cancer. He brought us the documents and we sent up the medical evaluation and they called him up there for a consult. It took him a long time but we finally got him in.

Not a weird DQ, just pathetic and sad. Had a guy who the recruiter prior to me had contacted but for some reason just fell off the map, all kinds of notes on him in my call books. Ended up running into him in his hometown flipping burgers at McDonalds after asking a random customer about the area. Guy was HIGHLY motivated to join, aced the ASVAB (96 AFQT), no legal, no medical, the easiest contract I could ever ask for. Gave him the brief after he was done at MEPS, "You ship in a month, don't mess up everything in your contract by doing something stupid. You're single, stay that way. You haven't been in trouble, don't start. You haven't been hurt, don't risk it." The night he was supposed to ship, my government cell starts to ring. I don't know the number on the caller ID, ended up being a collect call from the county jail... my applicant. Idiot had ignored my brief and gotten arrested for fooling around with the neighbor's daughter who he thought was 16 (he was 19 almost 20). I said, "Dude, you are not that stupid. You got a 96 on the ASVAB you know that 16 is way less than 20 and definitely less than 18. What are you being held for so I can call my boss and get your contract terminated." He said sexual assault of a minor, turns out the girl wasn't 16, she was 12. Moron! Listen to the recruiter, way to F'up your life! He seriously thought that because he was due to ship, I could get him out of the charge... He lost 25U with a Secret clearance, 18 grand in enlistment bonus for four years, plus the ACF.

Now a dumb DQ that happened was when I took another recruiter's applicant to the floor with one of mine. He made it all the way to the ENTNAC and got diarrhea of the mouth and started blabbing about how he had never been arrested for selling drugs, but had on multiple occassions, but never more than an ounce. Guess his recruiter forgot the brief my instructors at Jackson taught me: NO means Numerous Opportunities, YES means Your Enlistment Stops (except for "Do you feel good today?").

One of my instructors at school who used to be a recruiter told me that if i go on a date, put my recruiters card between my knees and if it dropped, so did my career.
