Capt Seid Waddell
Sgt Tom Cunnally, PO3 Steven Sherrill, in Da Nang it wasn't green eggs and ham, it was green eggs and rubber bacon. I loved SOS though; never got a bad serving of that anywhere.

Capt Seid Waddell - I would say how could they screw it up, but if I did a military "cook" somewhere would respond with challenge accepted.

Capt Seid Waddell - We lived on CRats in Vieques Puerto Rico and I ate a lot of corned beef or franks and beans... Then one day a stray dog wondered into our area and he looked like he was starving. So I gave this poor dog some of my CRats and he sniffed it and walked away without even tasting it... I wondered what the hell ; a starving dog doesn't like this food and I have been living on it for a few months..

This so called "Green Diet" is recommended by the VA for Veterans who have issues with weight, depression, anxiety, and PTSD....It consists of the following food groups:
1 Green Tea
2. Green Fruits
3. Green Vegetables
4. Fish 3 times weekly
5. Avoid Red Meat
6 Avoid Diary Products
Fish contains fatty acids and vitamins that help brain functions.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - Have you checked out the new Exercise Bikes lately?? I just ordered a Pro Form Exercise Bike for my home gym. It has a Computer Display that simulates biking in the Tour de France and tracks your BPM, Calories Burnt and Miles and etc . I like to run but in Massachusetts our winters are unbelievable with tons of snow and ice and temps below zero. So I think an Exercise Bike would be just as good or maybe even better than running or swimming..

Sgt Tom Cunnally - I had heard about the tour de france bike. Being the smart ass that I am, my first question was does it include the steroids, or are they an extra accessory package. Good luck, and I hope you have great success on the bike. personally, I love to swim. It gets the whole body going, and to me (this may sound wyrd) the sound of the water rushing over the ears is soothing.

Swimming is great & I got bored using a treadmill, elliptical Exerciser and StairMaster so I am going to try this new bike in @ 2wks..

Ok Rabbi The VA & Stanford had a program a few years ago to determine if PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety could be treated with diet, exercise, and a new item; spirituality. They wanted to get Veterans away from medications because of the side effects. So I was asked by Dr Ghao who was my VA Care Provider and also taught at Stanford to be a volunteer. I was in it for 3 months & was given several exams, stress tests, and required to fill out a questionnaire each month. I read a few months ago that other VA Centers are also doing similar studies to determine if the benefits of diet, exercise and spirituality can replace medications for treating PTSD and Chronic Depression. I was not privy to the results of these studies at Palo Alto and I asked my Doctor (Poterucha) at the VA in West Roxbury MA about this program. He said he had heard about these studies but it was not his area of expertise and was mostly done by other Doctors who specialize in treating PTSD...

Interesting. How do you think you fared on the program?
So, you were living in the Bay Area and moved to MA?

LCDR Rabbi Jaron Matlow - I was not able to stick to the Green Diet so I probably didn't add much to this program. Yes I moved back to MA to spend more quality time with my two grand kids.
