What is the status of our troops in Japan? We have a large amount of bases in the area and I have made many RallyPoint friends there as well. Can anyone stationed there give us an update? Has anyone there been given a warning order in regards to providing assistance for those affected?

The following clip from NHK shows current footage that gives an idea of the scale (but just in one town). Dramatic Helicopter rescues performed by Coast Guard, Army, and Police.

MAJ (Join to see), you still dry, brother?

Japan has dealt with a lot in recent years. I hope and pray that damage is limited and loss of life is zero.

SFC Mark Merino - I am sorry to learn that a number of people are missing. I am glad that Japan has a robust infrastructure in many parts of the nation with many islands.
I am glad that we don't station forces in Bangladesh. Every year it seems that Bangladesh loses 1,000's of people in the flooding which hits its western shores.

SFC Mark Merino - No I haven't watched it yet. Thanks for reminding me. Since the text is in Japanese apparently I didn't realize it was a video link :-)

SFC Mark Merino - I just realized from looking at the translated page that it is 9/11/2015 there. That gave me pause.

Amen. I wish I had a clue what was going on with our troops stationed there.

Was stationed in Okinawa and rode a typhoon out. The eye passed right over the base. It's amazing how it can go from squall with rain blowing horizontally, to sunny weather and peaceful calm, and then just as quickly turn to squall again with the rain blowing horizontally in the opposite direction!

That would be a trip. Sounds like a typical day in Germany whenever you are in the field....lol
