Do you think the judge should have had the prosecutor recuse her self and let the trial move to another city?

He is right to not do so. The case will play out in court where it belongs.

I agree it needs to be played out in court, however I believe it should be moved to another city/county in MD.

Defense counsel sought to have the case dismissed because of alleged misconduct from the prosecutor. While the allegation is a serious one that may have some merit--this issue is appropriately handled by the Attorney Grievance Committee in Maryland. If the committee finds misconduct occurred then it has the power to take remedial action. Defense counsel would have pursued this course of action if they thought it had enough merit. Hopefully, the judge's comments will serve as a fair-warning to the prosecutor to be careful what she says to the media. The fact Defense counsel succeeded in getting the officers tried separately is a strong legal victory for the officers.

The Judge actually addressed the prosecutor and told her that her conduct was un becoming of the prosecutor....so basically he told her she was treading on thin ice.. Good for the Judge.
