Does a Permanent Profile prevent somebody from being on the Commandant's List?

So here my question, have a Soldier in WLC who is on a permanent profile. Because of this, they are excluded from commandant's list, honor grad, so on. Is there a set standard Army wide for this? Because if other WLC's don't follow that, then they are losing out on receiving those extra point and competitiveness for promotion later on.

I would be curious to find out where this is, because I’m confident that there is no regulation that states a person with a permanent profile can’t be identified for Commandant’s List. It would seem to be a local school house decision. This doesn’t seem like something the Army would condone. If the service member has been specifically told you are excluded because of a profile, I would hope that there is a policy or guidance that came down from the Army to support that decision (I doubt it). It seems to me a bit prejudice toward personnel who still continuing to serve regardless of medical disability. Please follow up and see if there is some sort of regulation or Army Policy on this. I for one have not heard of an Army Policy that would authorize this.

1SG (Join to see) I was on the Commandant's List at ANCOC and had a permanent profile. To make up for the lower APFT score I had to have a higher GPA.

A permanent profile should not limit your potential for honors within an NCOES course. SGT Efaw's post shows that Ft. Jackson's NCO Academy is handling permanent profiles the right way. If there are NCO Academy's that are following different standards then it is not fair to the soldier and discriminatory toward soldiers with a permanent profile. An NCO Academy should, at a minimum, be using the standard in AR 600-8-19, in regards to APFT score calculation, when determining honors eligibility. I attended ALC and SLC with a permanent profile and was distinguished honor grad from both. Fortunately that NCO Academy had a common sense and fair standard.

I do not remember what the cut off was, but when I went through WLC in 2013, we were one of the first cycles (at least that's what we were told) to require a particular APFT score to make commandants list. I suspect that SPC Benjamin Roeder hit the nail on the head. It's not that a permanent profile is barred from making commandants list, but that it's hard to over come a 60 point score in one event.

That is correct. An alternate event can only score 60 pts as its a go no go event for promotion purposes is when a score is used other than that the APFT becomes a pass or fail

Correct me if I am wrong here, (I would have to look the reg up to confirm) But I thought that when you have an alternate event the scoring for that event is the AVERAGE of the events that you can do. So if you have to walk instead of run, then the average score of the push-ups and sit-ups together would be your walk score.
