I think I understand the situation:

The unit you are in won't request/purchase required gear?
And they won't update information of some sort? Is this personnel information, bad communication?

SPC (Join to see) - What do you mean no uniforms? Most SM receive their basic issue in basic training. You do not get new uniforms when transferring from another branch to reserve.

So the deal is with me personally I transferred from irr to reserve and have no uniforms or ta 50 issue they put in for all new issue as I was told by chain of command but yet from what I've been told by ncos in the unit that getting uniforms and gear in the reserves could take years to get which I can't see how that is right yet I witness it first hand

SPC Trendell,
I can't speak on behalf of the personnel issues, as for uniforms and gear, currently the Army Reserve is not issuing new uniforms due to the phasing out of the ACU pattern to make way for the new "scorpion"(?) pattern. I would expect TA-50 to be a similar situation. I would talk to the supply personnel for comfirmation. Also the Army supply system runs at a slow pace compared to normal civialian systems. 6months is about average to wait, I have had guys wait up to a year for gear. Have some patience but be persistent.

Sending a DA Form 200, and a routing slip form for actions that are not a one-stop shop. Engage your FLL first before approaching the staff that handle your request. And follow-up, follow-up, follow-up. Don't give a suspense, but give a generous amount of time for the unit to handle your issue. Your issue is one of a hundred that the staff has to attend to. Offer suggestions and ask for additional information why your requests take longer than what they should be. Do not be afraid to volunteer to take on additional duty if it alleviates your unit's FTUS burden.

The squeaky wheel gets the greese.

You can't fix what you don't know. If you go outside your chain of command it may mean that you need to work on your "core" relationship with TL's and SL's.
