I have tried using my VA loan, tried going through USAA, tried private lenders, no matter what I have tried I am unable to get a home loan. My problem is my only income is military disability. Anyone have suggestions?

Getting a home loan with only having your military disability may be very difficult for lenders because even at 100% it is sometimes hard to make ends meet at the 40,000 a year mark or whatever the payments come out to. While I'm no lending officer or money management professional, the advice I would give you is talk to a finical planner. I started talking with one a few weeks ago and we are working on a plan to help me not only save for a new car but to do while putting money away for a rainy day. It hasn't been a fun or easy process but it helps. They may have tips on ways you can go about securing your home loan.

Just wanted to know if you were able to get all of your questions answered. I'm a licensed VA loan specialist and have used the VA loan 3 times myself. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. dj.leverton@veteransunited .com if I can't answer it I'm sure someone on my team can.

MAJ Ken Landgren - I tried USAA, it was the first time they could not help me. I think I need to sit down with someone because I have a lot of questions and am having difficulty finding answers. My husband has to endure a lot with my disabilities, when I get one of my migraines he is pretty much the only reason I get through it. We try to do 50/50, but there are some days when he is doing most of the household duties.

You probably qualify for Caregiver and the concept is to pay someone to take care of a Veteran. Contact your VA caseworker. Apply for SSDI if you can't work. Just make a call to the SS office and make and appointment. Is the 70% vet considered unemployable?
