It's hard to fight when it's 100 degrees, 90% humidity and raining all the time.

10–17 August

The U.S. Special Forces Civilian Irregular Defense Group (CIDG) camp at Duc Co, 45 kilometres (28 mi) southwest of Pleiku had been under siege by the Viet Cong since June.
Attempts by ARVN to lift the siege had failed.
General Westmoreland sent the 173rd Airborne brigade to Pleiku and the brigade opened the highway from Pleiku to Duc Co.
The Viet Cong, possibly reinforced by a North Vietnamese Unit, withdrew.

There I was... not even a twinkle in my father's eye yet; matter of fact he was in the womb himself. Thank you for your service and sacrifice!
