As a current Instructor at USACHCS, what do you expect out of a new Soldier? What has been your past experiences?

I only expect a disciplined Soldier with at least a basic understanding of their occupation, I will take it from there.

I expect them to have a general understanding of their MOS. I understand that you cannot teach them everything they need to know in the short amount of time that you have them under your guidance. They also need to follow customs and courtesy. Give these Soldiers the skills they need to adapt to their Job depending on their assignment (this is coming from a comms background where in my first assignment I ran into equipment I was told I would never see). For Chaplains assistants I would say they need to understand how console (regardless of faith) individuals because the Chaplin may not always be there to help. I think they should also understand all the resources available to services members so that they can help guide soldiers in the right direction.
