See above comment. I was the 1st Sgt for Receiving Company when I retired. My career literally began and ended at the same place.

There's plenty still being used for storage at MCRD SD. Only place I've slept in one was at Camp Wilson 29 Palms during predeployment training in 2005 and 2007.

Thank you,Capt,I found some information after i posted this --they have one that is set up as a memorial in San Diego.

It looks like there about 15x of them near the pool off Guadacanal & Iwo Jima Ave's. Based on location, I would estimate they are historic (Storage) as opposed to operational.
