To the Soldiers, Families, Veterans and friends of the 164th Transportation Battalion, it is a distinct honor to join such a tremendous team. My first priority is to earn your trust and confidence by living up to my duties and responsibilities as your battalion commander. It will be very exciting to meet you and your families in person and see all the amazing support missions you do for the Army, the Massachusetts National Guard, and communities across our Commonwealth.
If asked to pick one word to describe the performance of the Soldiers and units of this battalion my choice is "excellent". Sustaining our team's track record of success must be our priority, and continuing to find ways to improve ourselves and our units is an essential task.
Let me close by saying that in the Guard, commanders are but temporary caretakers of the units Soldiers and Airman spend years building. So with that, thank you to the Soldiers of the battalion for allowing my wife Liz and me to be a small part of this amazing team. We look forward to serving with you here at home or wherever our Nation or Commonwealth requires this fine battalion and its units. Rough Riders!
