Be flexible, be tolerant, expect the unexpected. Understand and appreciate the big picture. Grasp on to the realization of the honor it is to serve and the impacts no matter how small you will make.

It depends on the individual, but make sure you have a trustworthy person in the rear to handle your finances. This is imperative!!! I have had too many Soldiers rely on an untrustworthy person only to come back to insurmountable debt. Remember that you will return a different person, also those back here will be different as well. Keep this in mind upon return! Also, depending on where you are being deployed, you need to keep your head in the game in country. Problems at home could put your comrades in danger! always keep the mission in your head! These are the only things I can really give you without knowing who you are! GOOD LUCK!!!
