I keep a good eye on my finances, pursue my college education and I'm attending JCAC right now so when my time in service is finished, I'll have a marketable job skill.

SPC (P) Luedeman, that is great to hear. Taking advantage of your educational opportunities and keeping a keen eye on your finances is the way to go. With that being said, are you just sitting on your money or are you trying to put it to work to make more money for you?

As long as you are doing your best to become debt free before either retirement or forced out, that is number one, getting as much schooling or certifications to make yourself more viable to the civilian world is next. And finally ensuring all your documentation is as accurate and included for your post-military benefits via Army and VA is just as much near the top as the others. Those should be your top three, oh and also start networking now for then as well.

SFC(R) Baber, I agree with you 100%. Taking advantage of the opportunities both educationally and financially wise is very critical to becoming successful in the post-military chapter of one's life. Networking opportunities are forever available and should be taken advantage of ALL THE TIME! Thank you for your input and sharing. Good luck to you and your future endeavors.
