Time after time after time conservatives and liberals are stereotyped not only by the media but by the current administration. My country is now divided into several camps primed to violently lash out at each other.

The answer to race baiting: Stop segregating ourselves by color and identify only as Americans!

One step further. Human. Even nationalities are an unnecessary label.

SGT Roberto Mendoza-Diaz - In order to identify as Americans, race-baiters need to be removed. Removed how, I will let your imagination be your guide.

While there are enough of the common race-baiters out there, the media tends to keep the problem alive. They have no news cycle, unless they are calling someone a racist.

When I hear the term white privilege, I am confused. Is this suppose to mean that I should be ashamed of being white for all of the advancements I have had? Or does this mean that since I am white, I have to be rich because everything is handed to me? I'm very confused by this. I can site some examples where I was the recipient of racial discrimination based on the fact that I am white. In Omaha, NE when I was getting ready to enter high school (and there are at least 8 high schools throughout Omaha), I was wanting to go to a school that was located downtown. But, where I lived, I was told that I had but 2 choices to go. And the reason they gave that I had only 2 choices, was because I was white and they wanted to keep the racial balance and harmony as equal as possible. A black kid two houses down from me was told he could go to any high school in town he wanted. The school I chose was located pretty much in the heart of North Omaha. The racial balance in that school was NOT balanced harmony. Us white folk were the minority in that school. Fine. So be it. Accepted what they told me, and I moved out and drew fire and got my HS diploma. That is but one example. Once upon a time ago, I was dating this one lady, and she was attending the local community college for her nursing degree. She had to work, get grants and loans just to pay for school. She was actually told by the financial advisor that if she were a single black pregnant lady, her education would be paid for. Her and I shook our heads. Moved out and drew fire and worked to get her schooling done. BUT, we sure as hell didn't have anything handed to us because of white privilege. I am not bitter about it. Yes, sometimes I shake my head, but I am not bitter. I take it as it comes. I go about my business and do what I need to do. But telling me that I have a better life because I am white is a bunch of crap. I have a better life because I CHOSE to have a better life. I didn't choose to break laws. I didn't choose to stay in dangerous neighborhoods. I didn't choose to blame others for my failures or shortcomings. I mean, how would I be received if I started blaming black people or Hispanic people for all the bad stuff that happens to me? My housing is paid for by my own paycheck. My gas and power are paid for by my paycheck. And my food is paid for by my paycheck. Those bills hurt, yes. But I also don't go spending $4,000 on wheel rims or $600.00 on a smart phone while pulling out my EBT to pay for food at the grocery.

But, social media and "news" organizations call me, the white guy, the bad guy.

MSG (Join to see) I had a lot of trouble wrapping my head around this "white privilege" issue at first because, like you said, it sounded like people wanted me to feel guilty for my accomplishments, as though my accomplishments were marginalized because "I had it easy" by being white. Through a lot of research and a bit of retaliatory responses I came to the realization that it doesn't have to be a bad thing, but the word "privilege" itself inherently infers a type of guilt that is not justified.

What people have to understand is that, on a macro level, there are certain benefits to being who they are. There are inherent benefits of being male, of being white, and that's okay, because there are also inherent benefits of being female, of being black, etc. I take issue when people try to make you feel guilty for using those benefits to succeed in life. No matter who you are, you have some sort of privilege afforded to you because of the current societal implications of either being part of the majority OR the minority. The majority holds the privilege of being the "norm" and inherently are more accepted in society, while the minority is afforded the privilege of special programs put in place to overcome negative implications of being the minority.

Yeah it bugs the hell out of me. I would like to see Nancy Pelosi tell a group of people from Appalachia or West Virginia that they are privileged because they are white. What they are really pushing is white guilt. It's coming from Democrats and liberals. It's those others white people they are talking about.

I'll draw fire for this but I'm not making a racist statement. I grew up poor. Never was on food stamps because both my parents grew up during the Great Depression and going on relief was a huge moral failure.

There were plenty of nights I ate rice and bouillon gravy. My mother worked tremendous hours off the clock to keep us afloat. I'm the first one in my family to graduate high school, both my parents had to quit to help support the family.

I was taught there were 4 types of people. Those are White, Black, White Trash and Niggers. The first two types work for what they have and are worthy of respect. The last two are parasites and just suck the life blood out of society. You might not like the names I use but they're what I was taught.

Our government is again separating us into these camps. Let's hope we don't go to war against each other.

I grew up on the farm. We we weren't rich, but we always had enough of what we needed. My brother and I worked hard in the garden every summer so we had food to eat in the winter. If we didn't have the money to buy it, we didn't need it. We weren't nothing special, but we never took food stamps or such. My mom and dad worked hard, but we also had family time. Dad and Mom taught my brother and I to respect others and their ways and that no one is right all the time and we all are wrong sometimes. RESPECT was taught for authority, no matter if it was school teacher, police, or what. Those in charge were listened to.

From what I see the basic problem is a break down in family values. If RESPECT was taught and learned by all, then so many problems would be solved.
