I remember the last days of the Khakis. I've never seen so many Troopers at Grannis Field (Fayettenam) heading home for the weekend wearing their Khakis. I had mine on! Walking through ATL Airport to change planes wearing the Beret, Boots bloused, Short sleeved Khaki top. I would pass Marines, and you cold hear them say, "Who the hell is that?" The BEST of times!!!

I agree, I miss BDUs. Â I'm still a little cherry because I only wore BDUs for a year! Â But you could tell a lot about a Soldier by there uniform back then. Â I do like the ASUs minus them making tabs pin on. Â I think they should have remain sown on because if you went to Ranger School in the winter you could sew your tab on with white tread. Â Now there's no way to show your a Winter Ranger!!!!

Happy. While the "Green's" of Class 'A' as there were known as, served their purpose, they just didn't look good. Now the Dress Blues or "ASU" as they are now called are steeped in traditions reaching back to the civil war. I think they look great. Everything stands out and our DA Photos look so much better. The materials are far superior to those of the Green uniform (thanks to Marlow White). Now that doesn't mean that I am apposed to the idea that was being kicked around, that of returning to the old WWII uniforms. Those uniforms would have been a better alternative to the Green Class 'A's. But as it stands, the ASU is here to stay and I am happy with the change.

That patch is worn by all airborne on the cunt cap, not just the 101. In fact, they prolly don't wear it, as I read in the Army Times, the division lost their last airborne unit this year, pathfinders, I think.

I was really hoping they would go with the WW2 era uniforms especially the "Ike Coat"

I heard the SMA is pushing to bring back the Ike jacket as a less dressy version of the dress blues. that would be sharp. I hope it goes through.

Dress Blues are just that, for dress. So now we have field, PT, and a dress uniform. Really? A dress uniform in an office environment? Why didn't we keep khakis for a working uniform? Oh, I forgot, khakis are a Navy uniform (desert on the ocean).
